- White sugar, 1/4 cup
- 1⁄2 cup softened unsalted butter
- One big egg
- Vanilla extract, 1 1/4 tablespoons
- one tablespoon of baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. baking soda
- 4 grains of salt
- all-purpose flour, 1 cup
- 1/2 cup milk
Set the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C). Using 12 paper liners, line a cupcake pans.
Using an electric mixer, combine sugar and butter in a bowl and beat until frothy. Add egg and vanilla essence after beating. Add salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Mix after each addition of milk and flour until just mixed. Pour batter into pan as directed.
Bake for about 18 minutes, or until the top is just beginning to brown. After 10 minutes, remove from the pan and allow cool fully on wire racks.
